While we are all aware that crimes, even those committed in Texas, are sometimes motivated by desperation, this criminal scenario appears to be doomed from the start.

Gigantic Amount of Meth Discovered at Texas Border

This Article Includes

  • 1 Gigantic Amount of Meth Discovered at Texas Border
  • 2 Female Driver Apprehended After Finding the Meth
  • 3 The Investigation Continues

Smuggling attempts are common at Eagle Pass Port of Entry, but this one is bigger than most.

According to US Customs and Border Protection, its field officers seized alleged liquid methamphetamine worth more than $10 million in street value.

A total of 1,149 pounds were located within an external gasoline tank.

If the drugs reached the streets of Texas, their worth would be $10,562,320.

Female Driver Apprehended After Finding the Meth

On Sunday, April 20th, the 2000 Dodge truck utilized in the operation approached the Eagle Pass International Bridge.

A CBP officer referred the 46-year-old female driver, a Mexican citizen, for a secondary inspection.

The suspect’s name has not yet been disclosed.

If you didn’t already know, the United States Customs and Border Protection utilizes cutting-edge technology to scan every car attempting to enter the country.

The Investigation Continues

Law enforcement is still investigating the case, as one might expect.

When you identify a suspect who is attempting to smuggle this massive amount of drugs into the country, police authorities will want as much information as possible.

At the time of arrest, authorities seized the drugs and Dodge pickup.

We cannot applaud our heroic cops enough for their efforts to keep dangerous substances off the streets.
