Adrienne Draper, the Councilwoman of Englewood, passed away at the young age of 26, as announced by the city on Monday.

According to the city, Draper’s roots are in Englewood, where she spent her formative years and graduated from Northmont High School.

Upon completing high school, she enrolled at Sinclair before transferring to Wright State University where she obtained a degree in Marketing. According to the city, she has recently completed her Master’s in Public Administration and also attended law school at the University of Dayton.

In 2019, she decided to follow her passion for public service and ran for a position in the Englewood City Council.

Alma Johnson Powell, the wife of Colin Powell, has passed away.

The city announced that Adrienne had triumphed in a spirited campaign, securing her position as the youngest female elected official in Montgomery County’s history.

Councilman Draper secured his re-election in 2021.

The city expressed its appreciation for her valuable contribution during her tenure, citing her fresh perspective and experience with county politics. They acknowledged her instrumental role in advocating for recorded meetings and her involvement in kickstarting the recent Strategic Planning initiative.

In 2021, the Montgomery County Treasurer’s office brought her on board as their Executive Assistant and Marketing Coordinator. She quickly proved to be a valuable asset to the team and received high praise as a valued employee.

According to the city, Adrienne was a strong-willed individual who relished a good debate. She had a passion for music and was a skilled cook. Additionally, she was always eager to lend a hand to those in need and was dedicated to serving her community. Her absence will be deeply felt, and she will be remembered fondly.
