Buffalo Coach’s Wife Dies, Community Comes Together

Last week, Amanda Ashley, the wife of Buffalo High School football coach, Austin Ashley, passed away unexpectedly, bringing the community together to support the grieving family in Buffalo, Texas.

During their visit to Buffalo, KBTX interviewed Lu Olvera, the Principal of Buffalo High School, and Jamin Savell, the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, to discuss the Ashley family.

According to Savell, Amanda Ashley was an individual cherished by numerous people and possessed a deep love and devotion towards her family.

According to Savell, the loss of this remarkable woman has hit the family extremely hard. She was highly regarded in the community and had a standing job offer at Fairfield High School due to the positive impact she had on both the students and the community.

According to John Bachtel, the Athletic Director at Fairfield High School where Amanda was employed, Amanda was a person of great character and integrity who was loved by all in the Fairfield community. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Ashley family during this difficult time of loss.

Last week, Amanda passed away unexpectedly.

Her husband and three children are now seeking a path forward.

Savell expressed empathy towards the individual in question, stating that she cannot fathom the extent of his struggle. She acknowledged that many individuals have offered their support and assistance to him, and believes that he will eventually reach out to them. Savell recognizes that he is coping with the situation to the best of his abilities.

The impact Amanda has made will be remembered for a long time.

Savell praised the community’s efforts, stating that they have already managed to breathe new life into it by reinvigorating kids and encouraging them to come out and play.

The Ashley’s have received an overwhelming amount of support through their GoFundMe page, which has already raised over $33,000.

According to Lu Olvera, the principal of Buffalo High School, those who wish to show their support for the Ashley family can offer their prayers or contribute to the family’s GoFundMe page here..

According to Olvera, the community’s overwhelming display of love is a testament to the family’s exceptional character.

Olvera expressed her gratitude for the tremendous support that the Ashley family has received. She described it as an amazing gesture that reflects the kind of people they are, as her father-in-law would always say – “good people.”

On July 26th, the community is organizing a cookout fundraiser at First Baptist Church Buffalo. This event is open to everyone who wants to attend and show their support.
