Occasionally the Jeep Wrangler can improve drivers’ confidence. But it doesn’t imply they should take on perilous off-road undertakings like fording rivers. A California guy discovered the hard way after he was rescued from the roof of his SUV by helicopter.

California man gets Jeep Wrangler stuck in river

Two California men are lucky to be alive after being nearly swept away by the swift South Fork Carson River in Alpine County, California.

They were on an off-road expedition, attempting to cross the river to see adjacent hot springs. As the men attempted to drive across the river, the Jeep Wrangler became submerged and began to move in rising waters.

As 40-degree water entered the cabin, the men went through the windows and sat on the roof. They had no mobile coverage and relied on a Starlink satellite to contact for assistance.

Alpine County Police officials obtained their exact GPS location thanks to the connection and dispatched a helicopter to survey the situation. with a 4×4 team. The helicopter lifted the man to safety.

Police officials then assisted 775 Off Road and Recovery in getting the Jeep Wrangler out of the water. According to Carson Now, the SUV could no longer be driven owing to water damage.

Once the guys had safely returned to shore, personnel performed health checks on them. Fortunately, nobody was wounded.

The prompt reaction of 755 Off-Road and Recovery, the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Search and Rescue, and the California Highway Patrol made a significant difference.
