A Nevada health care company’s CEO has been indicted for allegedly embezzling federal grant funding that was meant to aid indigent individuals.

David Ryan Linden, aged 35, holds the position of CEO at Silver State Health Services, LLC, a non-profit limited liability corporation located in Las Vegas, as reported by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

According to the indictment, Linden sought federal grant funds from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration by outlining that a sum of $735,200 would be allocated to cover the expenses of the health center’s personnel. In February of 2019, Silver State Health Services was awarded the grant money as a result.

As per the indictment, Silver State Health Services took out $357,000 from the grant and transferred the funds to their bank account on June 10, 2019. Shortly after, on June 16, 2019, Linden became a signatory on a bank account belonging to Freedom Infusions, LLC, a company not associated with the grant or Silver State Health Services.

On June 24, 2019, authorities reported that Linden had transferred $340,000 of federal grant money from Silver State Health Services to Freedom Infusions. The funds were allegedly utilized for the benefit of others.

The commencement of a jury trial has been slated for August 27, 2024.

Linden could face a maximum statutory penalty of 10 years in prison if found guilty.
