Chicago police accuse two teenagers of robbing and assaulting a 14-year-old in Uptown

According to the Chicago police, two teenagers were apprehended following an incident where a teenager was assaulted, robbed at gunpoint on the North Side of the city.

According to the Chicago Police Department (CPD), a robbery took place in the Uptown neighborhood at around 5 p.m. on Saturday specifically in the 5100-block of Sheridan Road.

While held at gunpoint, a 14-year-old boy was physically assaulted and robbed of his belongings.

Two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, were apprehended by the police approximately an hour later.

Police took both individuals into custody a few blocks from the scene of the crime. One was apprehended on Winthrop Avenue in the 5000-block, while the other was caught on Winona Street in the 1100-block.

The charges of armed robbery and battery are being faced by both teenagers.

An automatic weapon possession felony charge has been added against the 16-year-old.
