Devan Jordon, convicted of capital murder in the shooting death of  Jeffrey Johnson in League City in June 2021, is set to face a second murder trial in Harris County for the killing of Josh Sandoval. The Galveston jury deliberated for two and a half hours before finding Jordon guilty for Johnson’s murder, which was part of a broader crime spree that involved armed robberies and murders carried out by a gang.

Authorities say Jordon and other defendants followed victims from upscale restaurants to their homes, robbing them at gunpoint.

Jordon is accused of murdering both Johnson and Sandoval during these botched robberies. Sandoval’s older sister, Aimee Castillo, expressed relief over the conviction in Johnson’s case but lamented that Jordon had been out on bond during the crime spree.

Despite being charged with multiple felonies, Jordon was granted bond by both Galveston and Harris County judges, posting a total of $1.6 million in bonds before his trial began.

Jordon now faces trial in Harris County for Sandoval’s murder, with no official trial date set yet. However, he has been denied bond for this case.
