Drivers should anticipate delays Sunday night as the Tennessee Department of Transportation has issued a warning.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be providing an escort for an oversized load, which will be transported from Morgan County to Sullivan County. Troopers will be present throughout the journey to ensure the safe and secure transportation of the load.

This massive load spans 20 feet in width, 229 feet in length, and towers at a height of 17 feet, weighing a staggering 410,000 pounds. It has already been transported on U.S. 27.

Officials have reported that the load has been parked on Highway 62 in Morgan County for quite some time now. The journey for this load will commence on Sunday at 9 p.m. and continue till 5 a.m. on Monday. The journey will then resume at the same times on Monday night and continue till Tuesday morning.

The route is set to pass through several counties including Roane, Anderson, Knox, Union, Claiborne, Grainger, Hawkins, and Sullivan.

According to officials from TDOT, the transportation process will not require any road closures. However, the transport vehicle will be moving at a slow pace, and it is important for drivers to exercise caution while on the road.

The designated route for the transportation will cover the subsequent streets:

    • U.S. 27 South in Oakdale
    • Crossover to the opposite side of the road onto State Route 61E
    • Winter Gap Road
    • Railroad Avenue and Knox Street to SR 62E in Oak Ridge
    • Crossover to opposite side of the road onto State Route 170
    • U.S. 25W to State Route 61E
    • U.S. 441S
    • State Route 33N to U.S. 25E southbound in Bean Station
    • Taking a left onto West Main Street East to U.S. 11W North in Church Hill
    • Crossover to opposite side of the road onto State Route 346 NE (Carters Valley Road)
    • U.S. 23S to Exit 4B
    • State Route 93 to State Route 126N
    • Lincoln Street North and ending at 12th Street in Kingsport

If the weather conditions are not suitable, the transportation is flexible and can be adjusted accordingly.
