A shocking incident recently unfolded in Texas, where a 24-year-old daycare teacher named J. Collum was apprehended and charged with a third-degree felony. The charges stem from her alleged violent actions towards a 3-month-old baby boy, resulting in brain injuries. The entire incident was captured on video surveillance, further amplifying the gravity of the situation.

On the evening of October 16, the police department, in collaboration with Child Protective Services, initiated an investigation into a distressing incident involving a baby who displayed “unusual lethargy” following their time at the daycare facility. Collum, an employee at the daycare, now faces severe charges as a result of her actions during that day.

The police report states that the baby was brought to the daycare at around 8:00 a.m. Later in the day, around 4:00 p.m., the child started displaying signs of severe tiredness, leading the daycare staff to call for emergency medical services (EMS). It was decided to immediately transport the baby to the hospital for necessary medical care.

After these violent acts, Collum finally reported the baby’s distressing condition to her employer, which prompted an emergency medical response. The extent of the baby’s injuries indicated a deliberate act, which falls under the classification of a third-degree felony injury to a child according to Texas law. This law encompasses actions where an individual intentionally or knowingly inflicts harm.
