“The introduction of fentanyl and synthetics has greatly altered the drug landscape, and the public must recognize this fact. Each dose of these substances carries the potential for fatality, underscoring the gravity of the situation.”

A dangerous drug is infiltrating South Texas, posing a serious threat to the region.

The Drug Enforcement Administration has issued a warning regarding pink cocaine, a hazardous drug that is a combination of multiple substances with varying effects on individuals.

According to Leardo, the drug cocktail is a potent combination of ketamine, methamphetamine, and MDMA. It can be found in different forms, and in some cases, it also contains fentanyl.

Authorities have revealed that the drug’s distinctive pink color is a result of food coloring. The purpose behind this choice of color is to entice and appeal to potential new users. It has been observed that pink cocaine is prevalent in nightclubs and urban areas at the street level.

Leardo mentioned that multiple counties in Texas have experienced it. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has not encountered the drug in our area, but we are aware of its existence.

The drug is considered highly dangerous due to its unpredictable effects, as individuals may experience a range of reactions, including hallucinations.

Leordo emphasized that the public must recognize the shifting drug landscape due to the emergence of fentanyl and synthetics. He stressed that every single dose now carries the potential for fatality, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
