A man died early Thanksgiving morning after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash on Gregory Street in Rochester.

Around 3 a.m., Rochester police responded to reports of a man lying in the 200 block of Gregory Street. Officers determined the man had been hit by a vehicle that then fled the scene and has yet to be located.

The victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Rochester Police Capt. Ryan Tauriello.

Gregory Street, between South Avenue and Ashland Street, was temporarily closed while investigators worked at the scene.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911.
