An 18-year-old has been identified by the Independence Police Department as the victim in a fatal crash. The incident occurred in Independence, Missouri.

At approximately 4:45 a.m. on July 20, the crash took place at the intersection of Noland Road and 35th Street.

Police reported that while driving south on Noland Road, the driver of a 2008 Nissan Altima lost control and swerved off the road, crashing into the Sonic located at 3444 Noland Road.

Joshua Snowbarger, an 18-year-old resident of Kansas City, Mo., sadly passed away from injuries sustained in a tragic incident. Despite the efforts of paramedics to save his life, he could not be saved. The driver’s identity was confirmed on Sunday.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.

According to the Independence police, this particular crash was distinct from a fatal crash that occurred on US Highway 40 a few hours earlier.
