The families of two Panola County men who have gone missing are pleading with the public in an emotional appeal.

Batesville local Larry James Robinson, Jr., aged 47, and Sardis native Wayne Miller, aged 33, have been missing for several weeks.

When Wayne Miller was heading to Memphis, his mother, Annette Haynes, had a conversation with him. Unfortunately, Miller hasn’t been seen since February 3.

“My son told me, ‘Momma, you know your birthday is coming up. I’m going to get you something nice for your birthday.’ I couldn’t help but laugh. Since then, I haven’t received any communication from my dear child,” she shared.

On February 5, Miller’s vehicle was discovered in South Memphis near Zodiac Park, with a missing tire and the key left on the front seat. Prior to this, he was captured on camera in the vicinity of Highway 51 and Highway 315 in Sardis. Unfortunately, his cell phone was not found in the vehicle.

Robinson disappeared on January 22.

“He and I have always had a close relationship,” shared his mother, Rosetta Robinson. “He’s always been a momma’s boy, constantly checking in on me.”

On Friday, Panola County Sheriff Shane Phelps provided updates to the families, reassuring them that his department is actively investigating every tip they receive.

Investigators followed one of the tips they received and arrived at Barnacre Road in Panola County. They assembled search teams equipped with cadaver dogs, boats, and drones to scour the area, including a pond and a sprawling wooded region. Despite their extensive efforts, no evidence was found during the search.

The families are currently holding onto hope and reaching out to the public for assistance.

“We are asking that you would please come forward and share what you know,” Rosetta Robinson said. “If it was your family you would want somebody to tell you something. We just want to know.”

If you have any information regarding the location of Larry James Robinson, Jr. or Wayne Miller, please get in touch with the Panola County Sheriff, Panola County CrimeStoppers, or the Batesville Police Department.
