The Kansas City Police Department is currently investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Saturday night in Kansas City, Missouri. This tragic incident involved four vehicles.

Around 7:30 p.m., the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) reported a collision on Interstate 70 (I-70) near Manchester Trafficway. The driver of a Chevrolet Equinox was speeding when they collided with a Toyota Camry, a Ford Expedition, and a Ford F150 truck. All vehicles involved were heading eastbound on I-70.

According to the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD), the driver of the Equinox, who was responsible for the accident, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the driver of the Camry, as well as the driver and passenger of the F150 truck, emerged from the crash unharmed.

Authorities are currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash, which also involves looking into potential impairment.

The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) reported that following the collision, the authorities had to shut down all eastbound lanes of I-70 at Manchester Trafficway for a duration of approximately three hours. Thankfully, the highway has now been reopened, as confirmed by the KCPD.

At this time last year, there were 32 fatalities, whereas now there have been 45.
