Last week, a heart attack struck a Garden City resident who had already endured the tragic loss of his teenage daughter in a crash the previous year. Now, he is on the road to recovery in Wichita.
He found himself at a teen safety conference, passionately discussing the perils of distracted driving. Engaging with the young audience, he shared the heartbreaking story of his daughter, Cassie, whose life was tragically cut short by a distracted driver just a year ago.
As he neared the conclusion of his talk to students from 24 schools about the dangers of distracted driving, something unexpected occurred – an event he never anticipated.
