A FedEx employee is accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.

The items were reported missing on May 27, when FedEx Memphis Hub Loss Prevention initiated an internal inquiry into the undeliverable parcels.

One parcel contained a diamond ring worth $8,500.

A second box was also reported missing, containing four gold bars for $13,591.

Officials traced the ring and gold bars to a pawnshop. According to police, Antwone Tate sold the items to the pawn shop and used his Tennessee driver’s license to do so.

Tate was employed with FedEx at the time; thus, he would have had access to the goods.

Police also linked Tate to a third shipment of vintage baseball cards.

Police claim a seller named annta_57 advertised a 1915 Cracker Jack Chief Bender card and a 1933 Goudey Sport Kings Ty Cobb card on eBay.

Tate was identified as the seller by police, who also discovered that he had stolen the cards worth $6,856.

Tate is charged with theft of property in connection with all three incidents.
