Florida resident Thomas Carpenter risked his kid’s well-being for drugs and seems to feel no remorse. The 41-year-old man, who was released from jail in December, was arrested again on March 18 after being pulled over for a traffic violation. However, it became clear that he was breaking more than just traffic laws.

Carpenter’s car had three additional occupants when authorities pulled him over. A female traveler and his two children sat in the back. The deputies stated that as they approached him, he was falling in and out of sleep.

During questioning, Carpenter admitted to the officers that he and the lady passenger used marijuana in the vehicle. Authorities confirmed that neither had a medical marijuana card with them at the time of the occurrence.

When officers searched the automobile, they discovered drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and methamphetamine. Officers arrested the Florida resident and took him to the Putnam County Jail, where they conducted a thorough search. Eleven small, knotted sandwich bags with a crystal-like substance were located in front of his underwear.

The item in the package weighed roughly 322.1 grams and tested positive for methamphetamine. Fox 13 News reports that Carpenter is facing numerous charges and a lengthy prison sentence. They include one allegation of amphetamine trafficking and one count of possessing marijuana with the intent to sell, two counts of possessing a controlled narcotic without a prescription, smuggling contraband into a county jail facility, and three counts of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Facebook post from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, following his arrest, Carpenter informed deputies, “There’s nothing wrong with drugs.” The Florida native’s face was covered with tattoos that extended all the way to his neck, as shown in the mugshot.

As expected, the arrest elicited reactions from Internet users. One person commented on the ex-convict’s appearance, adding, “He seems really employable.

A copy of the incident report was forwarded to the Department of Children and Families, and the female passenger was discharged.
