During the month of June, approximately 11,834 New Mexicans, including individuals who are elderly and those with disabilities who receive SNAP benefits, will receive an additional $135 in food benefits. This increase in benefits aims to alleviate food insecurity and provide much-needed support to those in need.

New Mexico News reports that the Human Services Department (HSD) of the state, in collaboration with the  Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD), is set to provide additional food assistance to 11,834 individuals in June. Elderly adults and individuals with disabilities who are already enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will receive an extra $135 in food support. The objective of this partnership is to address food insecurity issues prevalent in the state and provide relief to those in need.

If you received the SNAP State Supplement in February, you will receive an additional $135 in SNAP benefits throughout June. The funding for this extra benefit comes from the state general fund, and those who qualify do not need to take any action. The extra funds will be automatically added to your EBT card, making it easier to access the additional support you need.

In June, 11,834 New Mexicans will receive an additional $135 in SNAP benefits as part of the Food Insecurity Initiative. This initiative aims to address food insecurity in the state and support families in need.
