Camryn Jones had a difficult childhood, being born three months prematurely and diagnosed with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. Despite these challenges, she persevered and is now an inspiration to many.

Merely a fortnight prior, she achieved an accomplishment that even she had considered impossible.

Jones remembers telling herself to “breathe and not panic.”

Stacy Stewart, the mother of the person in question, reveals that she repeatedly uttered specific phrases to her daughter throughout the entire weekend and the days preceding it. According to her, she would say things like, “You belong here,” “You can do this,” and “Just be yourself and have fun.”

In April, Jones and Stewart prepared for the National American 2024 Miss Kentucky Teen Pageant in Franklin, Tennessee, with Camryn as a finalist.

The Kentucky teenager is defying all odds as she prepares for a beauty pageant.

Over the course of a weekend, I competed against almost 200 girls from Kentucky and Tennessee, and it was a whirlwind of new experiences, both positive and negative.

Jones confesses that she recently wore heels for the first time in her life, despite experiencing a bit of discomfort.

The awards ceremony was finally upon us after three days filled with interviews, choreography, and presentations.

As Jones and Stewart stood beside Miss Kentucky, they were taken aback when they heard “Camryn Jones” being announced throughout the venue.

Jones couldn’t contain her excitement when she heard her name being called. Tears of joy streamed down her face as she expressed her elation. “I never thought they would call my name,” she exclaimed, overwhelmed with the realization of her achievement.

According to Stacy, their approach towards raising their children has always been centered around providing them with experiences instead of material gifts.

Camryn, who recently won the title of Miss Kentucky Teen Miss Spirit 2024, described it as an unparalleled experience.

Stewart recalls the memorable moment when her daughter participated in a pageant, an opportunity many young girls aspire to have. “She proved me wrong once again,” Stewart remarks, reflecting on her initial doubts about her daughter’s ability to partake in such an event.

Back in the spring, the young girl who eagerly sat down with her mother for an interview and expressed her excitement for the competition, now potentially has a promising future in pageantry.

At the moment, she and her mother are enjoying all the things that this particular experience has to offer.

Jones reflects on the impact of his experiences by stating, “I feel like it has changed me a little bit. All those experiences were incredible.”
