The National Weather Service has just announced a severe thunderstorm watch for certain areas in Pennsylvania and Ohio, which includes Pittsburgh, Akron, and New Castle. This warning is in effect until 8:00 PM EDT Monday, and it cautions residents to be prepared for potentially severe weather conditions that may occur throughout the day.

The National Weather Service has warned that the ongoing storm could potentially lead to dangerous conditions, which include isolated hail up to a quarter size, wind gusts of up to 70 mph, and frequent lightning. It is crucial for individuals to take necessary precautions to safeguard themselves and their properties. Residents are advised to remain indoors and securely fasten any loose outdoor items. The weather service strongly recommends staying up-to-date with the latest local news updates and weather alerts to ensure safety.

More than 6.4 million individuals reside in the area that has been affected, comprising over 2,000 schools and 135 hospitals that are at risk of being impacted.
