Houston Shooting Results in Murder Charges for TV Actor Akili McDowell

Akili McDowell, a TV actor, has been charged with murder after the shooting death of Cesar Peralta at an apartment complex in East Houston.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported that the occurrence happened at approximately 9:15 p.m. in the location of the 13503 block of North Thorntree, near Uvalde Road.

Cesar Peralta, a 20-year-old, was found in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead on the spot.

Actor McDowell, recognized for his appearances in various TV shows and movies such as “David Makes Man” and “The Astronaut Wives Club,” got arrested and taken to the Harris County Jail. He has been charged with a bond of $400,000 and is expected to show up in court on August 5.

In addition to his existing charges, McDowell is also facing a separate theft charge. The bond for this offense has been set at $210.
