Columbus, Ga. – Expect mainly showers with scattered thunderstorms, which are forecasted to end across east Alabama and west central Georgia before sunset. It looks like most locations should have good weather for fireworks across the region tonight.

Temperatures are expected to stay in the mid 90s during the day, while overnight lows will be in the upper 70s. The chances of scattered rainfall and storms will increase from Friday through Saturday overnight, and more storms are expected on Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday, the region will experience a cool front that may stall. The extent to which it sags to the south will determine the likelihood of isolated storms. These storms are expected to occur mainly in the south and east of Columbus.

Throughout the upcoming week, a consistent front will persist over the area, resulting in scattered storms and temperatures hovering below 95°. As we move through the Dog Days of Summer, it’s typical to experience frequent chances of rain in this pattern.

As we move into the weekend, Beryl path can be traced to the Yucatan Peninsula and northeast Mexico. The storm is expected to remain strong as it approaches the vicinity of Corpus Christi.
