BRUCEVILLE-EDDY, Texas — Families in Central Texas are gearing up for a festive 4th of July! With no burn bans in most counties, many are making a last-minute dash to local firework shops.
Night Light Fireworks is one such shop experiencing a surge in sales, and they couldn’t be happier about it.
You can’t miss Night Light Fireworks if you’ve driven along I-35; it stands out with its large mural on Old Bethany Road in Bruceville.
“We get visitors from all around,” noted Emerson Waskom, an intern and Baylor student. “From Lorena, Waco, Bruceville, even up to Temple. A lot of folks spot our mural from I-35, so sales have been really strong.”
Waskom attributes this to the absence of burn bans in most counties at present.
“I think people are genuinely thrilled about that,” Waskom added. “It means they can do more than they might have expected and enjoy a bit more freedom.”
From first-time buyers to regulars, Night Light is anticipating a lively season.
“Their impact on us is probably greater than they realize,” Waskom remarked.
The holiday holds special significance for some families, like the Salazars.
“I enjoy it, especially because it’s my grandpa’s birthday,” shared Carter Salazar. “Even though he’s passed away, I still celebrate him.”
The 4th of July brings together hundreds of people, a highlight for many.
“I’m proud to be American,” Waskom expressed.
Waskom advises shoppers to drop by sooner rather than later. Most stores are open until midnight, giving ample time for purchases.
Remember, fireworks legality varies. Using them within 5,000 feet of city limits could lead to fines up to $2,500. Check local regulations before celebrating.
