According to reports, a member of the Kansas City Chiefs was arrested on Sunday, marking their second arrest this offseason. The player’s attorney has stated that they believe their client was targeted by the Tuscaloosa Police Department in response to their previous arrest.

The Chiefs have had a tumultuous offseason, with multiple players making headlines due to run-ins with law enforcement. In the wake of their Super Bowl victory in February, Wanya Morris and offensive tackle Chukwuebuka Godrick were both arrested for allegedly possessing marijuana. Additionally, Rashee Rice was arrested after being involved in a high-speed crash over Easter weekend.

Isaiah Buggs turned himself in to the police in May

GH has previously reported that in May, defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs surrendered himself to the police in connection with a suspected animal cruelty case. Two misdemeanor charges have been filed against him. According to Buggs’ agent Trey Robinson, the Tuscaloosa city and police department have been engaged in a “campaign” to compel the former Alabama standout to shut down his Hookah lounge.

“Isaiah vehemently denies the truthfulness of the allegations and charges asserted against him today. Under no circumstance does Mr. Buggs condone the mistreatment of any animal. The dogs at issue did not belong to him and he was unaware they remained at the property in question.”
Furthermore, we believe the City of Tuscaloosa’s decision to file the charges today is part of a concerted effort by the City of Tuscaloosa and its Police Department to besmirch Mr. Buggs’ name and reputation as part of an on-going subversive campaign to force the close of his local business Kings Hookah Lounge.

Buggs was arrested on Sunday

Ryan Phillips, a contributor for Tuscaloosa Patch, reported that Buggs has been arrested on charges related to burglary.

“Tuscaloosa County Jail records show former Tide defensive lineman and Kansas City Chief Isaiah Buggs was arrested for burglary on Sunday.
The charge is domestic violence second degree – burglary.”

According to Phillips, more information will be available soon.

Last week marked the end of mandatory minicamp for Buggs and the Chiefs. Buggs joined the Chiefs’ practice squad in January and later signed a reserve/futures deal with the team. In the previous season, Buggs played in 10 games and started in three games for the Detroit Lions.
