Overnight on Saturday, Kansas experienced another round of severe thunderstorms that resulted in strong gusts of wind, intense rainfall, and some instances of hail.

According to reports, the most intense wind gust was recorded in Finney County in southwest Kansas, specifically 9 miles northwest of Kalvesta, reaching a speed of 93 mph.

During the early hours of the morning, Viola in Sedgwick County experienced a gust of 67 mph, while Eisenhower National Airport reported a gust of 66 mph shortly after 2:30 a.m.

In Clearwater, the storm caused significant damage with large tree limbs being downed and power outages reported. At its peak, the storm left around 10,000 customers in Sedgwick County without power. However, as of 9 a.m., the number of customers without power has reduced to just over 2,000.

The Jabara Airport received a total of 1.27″ of rainfall, while Andover recorded 1.04″ of rainfall. Notably, the Eisenhower National Airport was also affected by the rain, receiving a relatively lower amount of 0.76″.
