Blayr Barnard’s local farm will be providing fresher meals to a larger number of students in the upcoming school year through the beef raised on the farm.

For almost a century, the Barnard Family Farm has been a staple in the community. As of late, they have expanded their offerings by providing meat to select schools in the area.

According to Barnard, the reason why school lunches became a hot topic online was due to the presence of 26 ingredients in a single ground beef patty. These ingredients vary from fillers like soybean protein to actual chemicals.

“I’d rather my child have real beef than consume 26 ingredients in something that should only have one,” expresses the sentiment of many parents who are concerned about the quality of food their children eat.”

Barnard’s desire to serve students stemmed from the 26 ingredients that drove their passion.

According to her, beef should consist of only one ingredient – 100% real beef. Her farm is able to provide precisely that.

Barnard stated that the children in the local community will have the opportunity to consume beef that has been raised in their own region.

According to the speaker, it is beneficial for everyone, the economy, and the individual if the food cycle is shortened. This means that transportation of food items across the country or overseas via ships should be minimized. By doing so, people can have access to fresher and healthier food options. Additionally, it can also boost the economy and contribute to a sustainable lifestyle.

Many nearby school districts including McGregor, Crawford, and Lampasas now receive deliveries of meat from the local farm.

According to Barnard, the dedication and care of the teachers and employees played an indispensable role in making it all possible.

Barnard expressed his admiration for the employees who took the initiative to improve the quality of food served to their students. He stated that their dedication to providing the best possible food for the students was truly remarkable. According to him, these employees recognized the need to work harder and go the extra mile for the students’ benefit.
