Tupelo police arrested a man for allegedly taking images and recordings of unknowing women in a grocery store bathroom.
On Monday, police detained Jario Ramirez and charged him with secretly filming others for lewd purposes.
The incident happened at the Kroger on West Main Street.
“The safety of our customers and associates is our top priority,” according to a Kroger statement. “We are currently cooperating with Tupelo Police on this incident.”
Local and federal law enforcement are investigating whether Ramirez is in the country illegally.
Ramirez remains in jail with no bond.
