In Nacogdoches, Texas, Nacogdoches County deputies made a surprising discovery when they found a trunk full of drugs packaged for sale, belonging to a Houston man who had previously denied being a drug user.

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office discovered the drugs during a routine traffic stop. They stopped a vehicle driven by Donte Demond Brown, 44, from Houston, in the early morning on Tuesday. Brown was pulled over in the 3500 block of South Street after allegedly speeding through a construction zone on Hwy 59 South.

As the deputies approached Brown, they immediately detected the distinct smell of marijuana. Curious about the scent, they questioned Brown about it. However, he vehemently denied having smoked any marijuana and maintained that he did not partake in drug use.

The deputies discovered drug paraphernalia and a bag filled with pills, later identified as ecstasy. As a result, Brown was apprehended by law enforcement.

During the search of his vehicle, the deputies made an additional discovery. They found a total of 17.36 pounds of ecstasy, which was neatly packaged into 38 separate packages. In addition, they uncovered 12 bags of meth, weighing over 11.2 ounces, as well as a bag containing 1.11 pounds of cocaine.

Deputies were unable to confirm if Brown had indeed consumed any drugs before the stop. However, he was charged with three first-degree felonies for possessing a controlled substance. The bonds for each charge were set at $80,000, resulting in a total of $240,000.
