According to the Department of Justice, a 21-year-old man from Harrisburg has been sentenced to more than 19 years in prison after being found guilty of a two-week-long spree of robberies across Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

According to a press release, Kyle J. Morales admitted to committing robberies of businesses involved in interstate commerce, bank robbery, and displaying a firearm during a violent crime. He pleaded guilty to these charges.

According to the Department of Justice, Morales committed a string of robberies in March 2022, targeting various McDonald’s, Sheetz, and United Bank locations over the course of 12 days. During these incidents, he brandished a handgun and threatened employees in order to obtain cash.

After his imprisonment, Morales will be required to pay $5,094 in restitution to McDonald’s Corporation, Sheetz, Inc., and United Bank. Additionally, he will need to pay a $400 assessment charge and will be under supervision for at least five years.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys David C. Williams and Samuel S. Dalke prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, East Pennsboro Township Police Department, and Pennsylvania State Police.
