According to law enforcement sources, a brave commuter on an uptown 4 train was shot and injured on the Upper East Side early Sunday. The incident occurred when the straphanger attempted to intervene in a dispute between a couple.

According to The Post, the victim, a 31-year-old man, was struck in his left hand while on the train at East 86th Street and Lexington Avenue around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, as reported by the police.

According to police sources, the suspect and his girlfriend were engaged in a heated argument on the train. It was during this altercation that the victim bravely stepped in to intervene. Unfortunately, the situation escalated rapidly, and the suspect resorted to using a firearm, firing a single shot.

The suspect swiftly left the scene after firing shots, and authorities have not yet apprehended or identified him.

A Colorado man miraculously survived a potentially fatal gunshot to the neck thanks to a chain he was wearing. The incident, described as “just incredible,” occurred when the man found himself in the line of fire during an altercation. The bullet struck the chain, preventing it from causing serious injury or death. This remarkable incident serves as a reminder of the unexpected ways in which life can be saved and changed in an instant.

Two employees at a Krispy Kreme adjacent to the train station where the shooting took place expressed their fear upon hearing about the incident. They shared their trepidation as they both commute by train from the Bronx to their workplace.

According to Maylene Sanchez, a 33-year-old commuter, she had to rely on a $20 Uber ride to get into Manhattan on Sunday morning. The reason for this was because the subway was still experiencing delays following the shooting incident.

Sanchez, who is eight months pregnant and saving every penny for her baby, expressed her frustration over spending $20 on an Uber. “It’s a real bummer. It doesn’t seem fair that I had to shell out $20 just to open the store.”

Both workers expressed their frustration with the MTA for increasing subway fares while still having to deal with the chaotic conditions.

Johnny Wactor, an actor from the popular show ‘General Hospital’, tragically lost his life recently. However, amidst the sorrow, there is a heartwarming story of bravery and compassion. According to his mother, Johnny not only protected a co-worker but also ensured that they will attend his funeral. This selfless act exemplifies the kind of person Johnny was – someone who always put others before himself. As his family mourns his loss, they find solace in the fact that his death will not be in vain.

Sanchez expressed concern about the increasing price, stating that it makes the situation more dangerous. Regardless of the time of day, he emphasized that the situation is always chaotic.

According to a 21-year-old coworker, a group of police officers entered the store in the early hours of Sunday morning to purchase donuts. However, they did not mention anything about the shooting incident.

“This morning, five police officers came to purchase donuts, and we couldn’t help but wonder about their unexpected visit,” she expressed. “It would have been nice if they had given us some explanation or reason behind their presence.”

Both women expressed their surprise upon learning about the shooting incident as they frequently observed a significant police presence at the station.

A 21-year-old resident expressed concern about the lack of police presence in the station. “There should be more attention given to this issue,” they stated. Furthermore, they suggested that homeless individuals be removed from the trains, as paying almost three dollars for a train ride should warrant a certain level of comfort and safety.

Sanchez expressed her surprise and fear about the situation, stating, “It’s scary. We’re in the city. We’re not in the ghetto, so I’m surprised.”

It is not clear whether police officers were present in the station during the shooting incident. However, on Sunday morning, there were at least five NYPD officers stationed at the entrances of both North and South trains.

According to the MTA, the local train line is currently closed for scheduled maintenance.

EMS transported the victim to Cornell Hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.

The authorities have not yet disclosed his identity.

The investigation by the NYPD is still in progress.
