A Florida mother, possibly under the influence of drugs, was apprehended for abandoning her young son at a Miami park due to his misbehavior.

According to Local 10, concerned parkgoers contacted the authorities after discovering that a 5-year-old boy had been left unattended for 20 minutes. They also observed that the child’s mother seemed disoriented and left the park with a man in a vehicle. When questioned by law enforcement, the boy revealed that he was frequently left alone as a consequence of his misbehavior.

A witness later contacted the police after noticing that Alize Angel Rodriguez, the boy’s mother, had thrown her purse into a bush.

According to an arrest report obtained by Local 10, police discovered marijuana and pills, including Xanax, inside Rodriguez’s purse.

The authorities apprehended her and filed several charges against her, which included child neglect without causing serious physical harm, possession of a controlled substance (specifically Xanax pills), and possession of cannabis.

Rodriguez is currently in custody awaiting bail while her son is staying with his maternal grandmother.
