NCPD: Undocumented Immigrant Arrested for Shoplifting in Elmont And Turned Over to ICE

The Public Information Office reported that a Pennsylvania man was arrested for petit larceny on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 2:06 PM in Elmont.

According to police, officers responded to the Target store at 1730 Hempstead Turnpike for a shoplifting incident that had just happened. An investigation was performed, and the defendant, Jose Asto Jacome, 27, of 1412 Derry Street in Harrisburg, was apprehended without incident.

Further inquiry found that the defendant had an outstanding Warrant of Removal with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Defendant Jose Asto Jacome has been charged with petit larceny. He was given an appearance ticket and detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents (ICE).
