The storm system is forecast to produce rain through Sunday, with the most precipitation falling Friday night and Saturday early.
In contrast, snow will accumulate in upstate New York and Maine, particularly in elevations above 2,000 feet. The Adirondacks might get up to 6 inches of snow.
Residents in Maryland and adjacent counties are advised to use caution on the roadways, as heavy rain may make travel dangerous, particularly during rush hours. Drivers should also be aware of the possibility of floods in low-lying areas, as well as gusty gusts, which could complicate driving conditions.
