Residents in Northern Ohio should be ready for severe weather as strong thunderstorms are anticipated to develop in the afternoon of Monday and last until the evening. Cleveland, OH, is among the areas that may experience the severe weather.

The National Weather Service Cleveland office has reported that a cold front is approaching the region, which is expected to result in isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms. These thunderstorms may cause damaging wind gusts and localized flooding due to heavy rainfall rates in slow-moving systems. The areas that are most vulnerable are those located north of U.S. Route 30, including Cleveland, Sandusky, and Toledo.

According to the NWS, the cold front on Monday afternoon will bring showers and thunderstorms that will continue into the evening. The storms may bring about damaging wind gusts that have the potential to knock down trees and power lines. There is also a risk of heavy rainfall, which could result in flash flooding in low-lying regions.
