Looking for grocery stores that are open on Independence Day in the Kansas City area? If you find yourself in need of ice cream cones or bug spray, don’t worry. Here is a list of grocery stores that will be open on July 4th.

On Thursday, several grocery stores in Missouri and Kansas, including Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, and Lenexa, are open and ready for business.

On the Fourth of July, six grocery store chains have adjusted their hours of operation:

  • Costco (closed)
  • Aldi (closes at 4 p.m.)
  • Trader Joe’s (closes at 5 p.m.)
  • Sam’s Club (closes at 6 p.m.)
  • Whole Foods (closes at 6 p.m.)
  • Hen House (closes at 8 p.m.)

On July 4, the Kansas City area has a few grocery stores open for business. However, it’s important to note that certain departments such as delis and pharmacies may have reduced hours or be closed altogether. It’s always best to confirm with the store for their exact hours of operation.

  • Hy-Vee
  • Price Chopper (some locations close early)
  • Save A Lot
  • Sprouts Farmers Market
  • Sun Fresh Market
  • Target
  • Walmart Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets
