Amarillo Police have reported a tragic incident of a mass shooting at a nightclub in which one person lost their life and nine others sustained injuries. The authorities have identified the shooter as 23-year-old Robert Kenney Knox, a resident of Amarillo. Additionally, charges of one count of murder and eight counts of deadly conduct have been filed against Knox. The driver, 21-year-old Nahryah Hilesta Ines Hayes, also from Amarillo, has been charged in connection with the incident.

Deadly Amarillo Shooting

Here’s what we know: According to investigators, multiple 911 calls were made reporting a shooting in the 700 block of S. Polk Street shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday.

According to witnesses, a vehicle pulled up to the entrance of an open nightclub, and an individual stepped out, brandishing a rifle. This person proceeded to open fire into a large crowd.

The suspect left the scene after firing multiple rounds and getting back into the vehicle.

A concerned bystander chose to trail the suspect’s vehicle and promptly dialed 911 to provide the authorities with the ongoing direction of travel.

Randall County Sheriff’s Deputies successfully located and intercepted the vehicle.

Three individuals were apprehended and transported to the Homicide division of the Amarillo Police Department for interrogation.

Nine individuals sustained gunshot wounds, with six of them being transported to hospitals for immediate medical treatment. The remaining three were conveyed to the hospital by private means.

John Love Louima, a 25-year-old victim, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds while receiving treatment at the hospital.

The authorities have identified the suspected shooter as Robert Kenney Knox, while the driver of the vehicle has been identified as Nahryah Hilesta Ines Hayes. Additionally, one of the backseat passengers has been identified as 22-year-old Britt Crinson Cave.

Knox and Hayes face charges of murder and eight counts of deadly conduct.

Cave is facing charges for public intoxication.

According to investigators, the shooting may have resulted from a previous altercation that occurred inside the bar.

The hospital has not released information about the conditions of the eight people who were taken there.

As of this report, there have been no releases of the mugshots for two out of the three individuals who were arrested.
