According to the Swanton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a man lost his life on Saturday night while crossing lanes on the Ohio turnpike.
According to deputies, a Ram 1500 pickup truck struck Matthew T. Savord, 30, as he was walking across the eastbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike.
Officials have confirmed that Savord sustained fatal injuries in the crash and passed away at the scene.
It is still unclear to the OSHP as to why Savord was traversing through the lanes during that time.
