It seems like Punxsutawney Phil’s forecast of six more weeks of winter has already begun in the Delaware Valley.

Here’s what we know: It’s another cold winter Sunday, with the morning sun giving way to cloudy skies later in the day as snowfall moves into multiple counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

From 5 to 9 p.m., the Lehigh Valley, Berks, upper Bucks, and Montgomery counties, along with Mercer County, should anticipate a light snowfall ranging from a coating to an inch.

Timeline:  Snow flurries are expected to begin around dinnertime in Berk County and the Lehigh Valley. By 7 p.m., there will be more snowfall in upper Bucks, Montgomery, and Mercer counties.

Flurries may reach Chester, Delaware, and Burlington counties between 7-8 p.m.

However, the snowfall comes to an end for everyone by 9-10 p.m.

Let’s take a closer look at the statistics: The Poconos are expected to receive the highest amount of snowfall, with nearly 3 inches. Following closely behind, Allentown is projected to receive nearly an inch of snow, while Reading is expected to see half an inch, and Doylestown is likely to receive a quarter of an inch.

Philadelphia is likely to not experience this snowfall.

What’s coming up: Sleet is expected in certain areas on Wednesday evening, transitioning to rain later in the night.
