The Allen County Sheriff’s Department has made an arrest in connection with the recent hit-and-run accident on I-69 that resulted in a fatality. According to reports, the driver who had been wanted in connection with the accident has been apprehended.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on July 25, a body was discovered in the roadway on northbound I-69 near the 319-mile marker. The police were immediately notified by a caller and responded to the scene.

Authorities found 48-year-old Brad Anthony Nacio of Indianapolis dead at the scene and a disabled semi parked on the side of the highway when they arrived.

According to the police report, Nacio was hit by a vehicle while he was outside of his semi-truck on the highway shoulder. The truck had broken down and he was attending to it at the time of the incident.

On July 30, the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident was found after the sheriff’s department appealed to the public for assistance in the search.

According to authorities, the individual who fled the scene has been apprehended and charged on Wednesday, all thanks to the tips provided by the public.

After conducting a thorough joint investigation with police departments in two states, the authorities have finally identified the man as John A. Dailey, a 53-year-old resident of Charlestown.

Dailey has been accused of leaving the scene of a crash, reckless homicide, and obstruction of justice, according to preliminary charges.
