On Monday, the Tri-Cities can expect wind gusts of up to 47 mph, following a rainy night.

A wind advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for a large portion of southeast Washington. This advisory will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday.

On Sunday night, the weather forecast predicted a rainfall of approximately 0.1 to 0.25 inches. Showers were also expected to continue until 11 a.m. on Monday.

The skies are expected to clear up by late morning on Monday, but there may be an increase in wind speed. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., sustained wind speeds of 25 to 40 mph are forecasted, accompanied by strong gusts.

The weather service is cautioning about the possibility of strong winds that could send garbage cans, lawn furniture, and trampolines tumbling, as well as break off tree limbs. These gusts have the potential to cause power outages and create challenging driving conditions, especially for trucks and motorhomes.

The wind is expected to gradually decrease in speed from late afternoon on Monday until the early hours of Tuesday morning.
