A man has been arrested for allegedly using an industrial saw to forcefully open ATMs in St. John the Baptist Parish and various other parishes in Louisiana.

Alfred Roy Cobb, also known as “The Saw Bandit,” was apprehended and placed under arrest in Temple, Texas. On Thursday, December 12, U.S. Marshals located him at a U-Haul facility, as reported by the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies are currently in the process of extraditing Cobb back to St. John Parish, where he will be held accountable for the charges of simple burglary and criminal access to an ATM. Additionally, he will also face similar charges in Tangipahoa, Livingston, and East Baton Rouge parishes for his involvement in other ATM burglaries. Furthermore, Cobb is also facing felony firearm charges in Texas.

Cobb came into the spotlight when surveillance footage captured him in the act of trying to break into an ATM in Laplace on October 12. Armed with crowbars and a heavy-duty cutting saw, he relentlessly attacked the outer casing of the machine. However, despite his efforts, he was unable to gain access to the cash inside.
