Deputies from the Harris County Precinct 5 Constables Office responded to a report of a body discovered in the backyard of a residence on Galleon Fields Dr. in Cypress at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Residents in the area reported hearing gunshots around 11 p.m. the night before the investigation. Deputies were alerted and promptly arrived on the scene, however, no suspicious activity was found.
Giovani Cruz, the teenager, sustained a gunshot wound to his chest.
