The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) recently made notable progress in their efforts to apprehend individuals from the state’s 10 Most Wanted list. In January, they successfully arrested two individuals who had been evading capture. Jrdon Mykel Joe, a 23-year-old from Houston, and Marcos Christopher Alonzo, a 47-year-old from Dallas, were both taken into custody by the authorities. This arrest marks a significant step forward in the ongoing mission to ensure public safety and bring fugitives to justice.

Joe, the featured fugitive of the month, was apprehended in Houston on January 28. Authorities successfully coordinated a joint operation, involving DPS Criminal Investigation Division Special Agents, the Texas Anti-Gang Center, and various other law enforcement units, to bring him into custody. Joe had been a wanted individual in Harris County since August 2024, following an alleged shooting incident on July 12, 2024. The Texas Department of Public Safety reveals that Joe has a criminal record, including previous arrests related to drug and violent offenses.

On January 18, Alonzo was apprehended in Dallas by the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, with support from the Hutchins Police Department. He had been sought since February 2023 for failing to adhere to sex offender registration obligations. Alonzo’s history of offenses includes a 2005 conviction for indecency with a child and a 2011 conviction for neglecting to register as a sex offender.

Rewards will be given for both arrests through the Crime Stoppers program. The program, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash incentives for providing information that leads to the capture of fugitives on the Texas 10 Most Wanted lists. In the year 2025, a total of six fugitives have been apprehended, resulting in $10,000 worth of rewards being paid out for the tips that directly contributed to these successful arrests.

You can anonymously provide information to the authorities through various channels, including the Crime Stoppers hotline, the DPS website, or Facebook. It is important to note that the DPS advises against attempting to apprehend these fugitives on your own, as they are considered armed and dangerous.
