Court filings provide unsettling new information regarding the death of a 17-month-old girl discovered on Wednesday close to Galveston’s seawall.

The toddler was dropped from a third-floor hotel balcony by the child’s mother, Channel Yonko, 30, who is charged with capital murder. A magistrate judge refused to grant her bond when she appeared in court on Thursday morning.

Yonko has a history with the CPS, according to officials. They stated that 17-month-old Hannah was not involved in the problems, but they would not elaborate.

Along the Seawall, the memorial next to the Kroger is still expanding. Little Hannah was discovered there on Wednesday, in the center of 59th Street.

Police say they have security footage from the second story of the Beach Front Palms Hotel, where it looks the toddler fell from the third-floor balcony and then rolled onto the concrete sidewalk, according to new information from charge filings.

The baby allegedly suffered many stab wounds, according to the paperwork. Investigators think Hannah was killed when her mother dropped her from the balcony.
