Governor Greg Abbott, in partnership with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Texas National Guard, has launched Operation Lone Star to combat crime and enhance border security in Texas. This collaborative effort has yielded remarkable results, with over 525,300 illegal immigrant apprehensions and more than 48,300 criminal arrests.

Among these arrests, 41,700 felony charges have been filed, underscoring the significant impact of the operation. Notably, the fight against the deadly fentanyl crisis has been particularly intense, resulting in the seizure of over 552 million lethal doses of the drug. To put this into perspective, this quantity is sufficient to eliminate the entire populations of both the United States and Mexico.

Operation Lone Star has achieved impressive milestones since its establishment. The operation has made remarkable progress in safeguarding Texas communities. With over half a million apprehensions and thousands of criminal arrests, it has demonstrated unparalleled success. Each arrest signifies a direct and dedicated effort to ensure the safety of neighborhoods throughout the state.

The battle against fentanyl, a deadly crisis, has become the focus of Operation Lone Star. Texas law enforcement’s recent seizure of more than 552 million deadly doses is a significant victory in the fight against the infiltration of this dangerous substance into our communities. This successful operation highlights the critical importance of ongoing vigilance in addressing the fentanyl crisis that affects the entire nation.

Operation Lone Star’s comprehensive strategy has successfully resulted in an astounding 86% decrease in illegal border crossings. This remarkable achievement has not only reduced the number of migrants requiring transportation to sanctuary cities but has also significantly minimized the threats infiltrating into Texas. The resounding success of this program underscores the immense impact of collaborative endeavors in effectively tackling border security challenges.

What Does the Future Hold for Texas’ Border Security?

Texas’ commitment to border security remains strong with initiatives like the newly implemented bounty program and ongoing large-scale operations. However, the question remains: will these measures be sufficient to address the challenges that lie ahead? The state’s unwavering determination to combat gang activities and combat the fentanyl crisis ensures that Texas communities will continue to receive the protection they deserve.
