As of today, the death toll from the mass shooting that took place at an Arkansas grocery store has risen. Four individuals have tragically lost their lives, while nine others remain injured.

On Friday afternoon, a shooting took place at a local grocery store, causing panic among shoppers who heard gunfire and rushed to find a safe place to hide. As per the police report, the incident left fourteen people injured, and unfortunately, four of them have passed away due to the severity of their injuries.

The ages of those who lost their lives in the shooting ranged from 23 to 81 years old. Sadly, a fourth victim also passed away on Saturday evening. The individuals who were killed have been identified as Shirley Taylor, 62, Callie Weems, 23, Roy Sturgis, 50, and Ellen Shrum, 81. The Arkansas Department of Public Safety released a statement indicating that four others who sustained serious injuries in the incident are still in critical condition.

Travis Eugene Posey, 44, of New Edinburg has been identified by the Arkansas State Police as the suspected shooter. Following a shootout with the police, Posey received treatment for non-life threatening injuries at a hospital. He has been charged with three counts of capital murder and taken into state police custody.

In a troubling incident captured on a cellphone video, a man can be seen standing in the parking lot of a grocery store, firing a gun in multiple directions.

According to CBS news, witnesses recounted how panicked shoppers were scattering in all directions, with some even seeking refuge in the freezer located at the rear of the store.

The motive behind the shooting has not been disclosed by the police yet. An update regarding the incident will be shared in a media briefing scheduled for Sunday at 2 pm.
