According to the forecast, the storm system is expected to arrive on Friday, June 14, during the mid-afternoon and continue until late evening.

According to a statement released by the National Weather Service on late Thursday afternoon, June 13, showers and thunderstorms are anticipated to form ahead of a cold front and traverse through the area on Friday afternoon and evening. The statement further added that a few thunderstorms might be intense, leading to the production of gusty to damaging winds and brief downpours. Additionally, there is a possibility of localized flash flooding.

There is a chance of experiencing large hail, which could cause potential damage.

According to the weather service, severe storms may cause wind gusts exceeding 58 miles per hour.

Severe storms pose a greater threat to areas located north and west of New York City and Long Island. The image above highlights these regions in yellow.

Expect a mostly sunny day this Friday, June 14, with temperatures climbing to the mid to upper 80s throughout the day.

At approximately 2 p.m., the storm system is expected to progress from west to east, with a gradual decrease in intensity late Friday evening.

The forecast predicts that the system will generate a significant amount of rainfall, ranging from one to one and a half inches. However, in areas where severe storms are present, there may be even larger amounts of rainfall.

On Saturday, June 15, the weather will be bright and sunny with a high temperature of approximately 80 degrees. The storms are expected to subside, and there will be an opportunity for learning overnight.

Expect similar weather conditions for the remainder of the weekend.

Sunday, June 16th will offer an abundance of sunshine and temperatures that will reach or slightly surpass 80 degrees.

On Monday, June 17th, we can expect mostly sunny skies with high temperatures reaching the mid-80s.
