Police are searching for two thieves who stole thousands of dollars in lottery tickets during two separate thefts in New York City in recent weeks.

The first robbery took place at a Manhattan company on Eighth Avenue in the West Village. On December 26, about 8:30 p.m., the suspects entered the institution and pretended to have a pistol before stealing $2,100 in lottery tickets.

Not even two weeks later, on January 8, at 8:20 p.m., the two entered a shop at 31-02 Broadway in Astoria carrying a gun. They increased the value of the lottery tickets they snatched, leaving with $4,800 in total.

In both occasions, they escaped on foot. There were no injuries recorded during either robbery.

Police released CCTV photographs and video early Sunday morning of the suspects leaping a turnstile at the Broadway subway station following the Jan. 8 crime. In the video, one of the suspects is seen carrying a case full with scratch-offs and other lottery tickets.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
