Starting July 1st, customers will be able to purchase “to-go” alcohol from restaurants, a trend that gained popularity in many states during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hacienda Mexican Restaurants has eagerly awaited a law that would allow it to sell carryout alcohol. During the lockdowns, the restaurant attempted to offer this service, but it was not yet legal.

According to their latest statement, they are fully prepared and confident that this move will attract a larger customer base.

Cody Jackson, senior marketing director of Hacienda Mexican Restaurants, expressed his excitement about the potential success of their carry out business. He believes that this new venture could provide a significant boost to their business. Although uncertain about the outcome, Cody is confident that their signature product will be well-received by the public. “We honestly have no idea but we feel we have a signature product to offer the public and we hope it’s really successful,” he stated.

Jackson expresses his enthusiasm for the new law, but emphasizes the importance of ensuring safe sale of alcohol as a primary concern.

The Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission has been collaborating with them to ensure that all regulations are being adhered to.

To ensure safe driving, it is crucial to prevent drinking while on the road. This can be achieved by using a special container for alcohol, which makes it impossible to consume while driving.

According to Jackson, the cap is designed to be tamper-evident. Once the margaritas are poured, they seal the cap and place it inside a tamper-evident bag. This ensures that the product has two layers of protection before it leaves the establishment, giving customers peace of mind that their drink is safe to consume.

In his efforts to prioritize customer safety, he is collaborating with restaurant staff to ensure responsible alcohol sales and overall safety measures.

According to Jackson, the policy remains clear that no alcohol should be sold to customers exhibiting any signs of intoxication. “We’ve emphasized that we shouldn’t sell even a single drink to such individuals, and we shouldn’t provide any alcohol for takeaway as well,” he stated.

According to Jackson, individuals seeking to purchase alcohol for carryout purposes must physically visit the restaurant.
