The Southeast will continue to experience hot and humid weather today as the remnants of Beryl bring in deep tropical moisture across the Tennessee Valley. Huntsville, Alabama, is no exception to the sweltering conditions.

The National Weather Service has released a Heat Advisory until 7 p.m. on Tuesday due to the expected heat index values to exceed 105 degrees in the afternoon. This advisory will cover all counties located in North Alabama, in addition to Franklin, Lincoln, and Moore counties situated in Tennessee.

With a hot airmass prevailing and dew points soaring into the 70s, the heat index values are posing a significant threat. The excessive heat index values are expected to range between 100 to 109 degrees today, particularly in regions that receive more sunshine than clouds.

To avoid heat-related illness, it is crucial to keep yourself hydrated by drinking sufficient water and electrolytes. Additionally, it is recommended to apply sunscreen several times and wear light-colored and lightweight clothing to prevent overheating. If you experience symptoms of heat-related illness, it is best to move indoors and seek medical attention immediately.
